| Helen and Frog are friends. They like having lots of fun and making new friends. They live at the seaside, and love to play on the beach - FROGTASTIC! Helen and Frog love being on the beach because although it is the same beach every day, it also changes quite a lot, so it can be a different beach every day too because of the weather, or what the sea is doing. Helen likes going for walks on the beach so she can have time to think of new ideas. Frog likes to run about on the beach sniffing everything and paddling - even when it's quite cold! They both feel very lucky to live somewhere they love so much! |

The books used to start with "Frog and Bimmy are friends, they live in a little house, in a small town, near some big hills and some huge lakes." that was when Helen and Frog lived in the lake district. But now Helen wants to bring the seaside into all her new ideas and stories, because she thinks it's important to write about the things that are all around you. "It's Stickinormous!" is the first book to start with "Frog lives with Bimmy by the seaside, where they have lots of fun with their friends." |
Helen likes to write about the sorts of things that might happen to children. She likes to make her characters a little bit like the real people and animals she knows, but she gives most of her characters different names for the books - like a nick name, or a pet name. So in the books, the person who is Frog's best friend is Bimmy! Here is Bimmy in her new hat. |

Here is a photo of Frog and a drawing of Frog. Helen often asks children what is the same and what is different. What do YOU think? Helen says her stories are a little bit real (like the photo) and a little bit made up (like the drawing). |
