Gingerbread House!

I wanted to surprise Bimmy by making her a gingerbread house. It looked VERY exciting on the box! So I washed my paws, and got stuck in - it was VERY lucky that Ginger Jelly wasn't there to help! Youchers!!
I made a kind of photo diary or story to show Bimmy later how I did it:

Let’s get started

Lets get started

I can't wait to get building my very own gingerbread house! But everything is at the bottom of the box - it's....hard...to....reach....!

Hurrah – I’ve found the sweeties!

hurrah Ive found the sweeties

Everything I need is in the box - these jelly rings look especially frogtastic!

First, make the walls and roof!

First, make the walls and roof

Hmmm, this might be tricky....it's like a gingerbread jigsaw puzzle!

This icing bag is bigger than me!

This icing Bag is bigger than me!

I've got to stick the walls together with icing and leave it to set for a while.

I don't WANT to  wait for it to set! I just want to get on with sticking on the sweets and making patterns with icing!

Ha! that’s the roof on, what’s next?

Ha! thats the roof on, what's next?

MORE waiting!

I'll just go sort out the sweets and other cool stuff I'm using to make it look like a storybook house....

More icing needed!

More icing needed

I've had to make a huge lot of icing to cover the roof to make it look like snow, then I can use more icing to make patterns on the walls, and to make window and doors.

This could get sticky! Don't tell Ginger Jelly what I'm doing....

Snow on the roof!

Snow on the roof!

Cool! This white icing makes great snow - it looks like icicles dripping off the roof!

Just add some sweeties….

Just add some sweeties to the roof

It's hard to reach the top of the roof without getting icing all over my tummy - and I don't want to stop to have a bath in the middle of all this fun!

Can you see I've made the windows on the sides by squeezing out the icing through a piping bag - it was REALLY hard! And it looked so easy on the box...

Ooh, the door looks great!

Oh the door looks great!

Now it's starting to really look frogtastic! Do you think a naughty witch will want to come and live in it?

Now to make windows on the other side

Now to make windows on the other side

Hmmm, maybe I should have made the windows and doors BEFORE I made the roof all snowy and sticky....It's good fun!

That’s both ends done now...

Thats both ends done now

It takes a while to lick on I mean STICK (!!) on all those little sweeties, but they just look so yummy and pretty, don't they?

Can you see the extra snazzy side bits?

Can you see the snazzy side bits?

It was SOOOO hard doing that pattern on the wall! My icing tube didn't want to do squirty stuff sideways.

I had to squeeze EXTRA hard! Someties I wish I had thumbs.

Hurrah!

I’m just sniffing it to make sure it’s good to go…

I'm just snffing to make sure its good

Yes, that smells good enough to eat!

I’ve got a jelly on my forehead?

Ive got a jelly on my forehead?

Are you sure you're not seeing things?

Who are you calling Rudolph??

Its no good i cant smell anything!

It's no good, I can't smell ANYTHING with this sweetie on my nose....

Ta Dah!

Ta dah - my gingerbread house!

FROGTASTIC! My very own Gingerbread House, good enough for a real witch to live in - as long as she isn’t too tall!

That was SO much fun! But I'm not sure how we are going to eat it....Can we keep it forever and ever?? No?? You mean we CAN eat it??
Well, if you insist.....
